Hi! I graduated from high school this year and will be attending Georgetown University in the fall. I love to play sports and have a passion for learning and helping others. During my family’s sabbatical to South America, I home schooled through an online program. I am excited about this experience!

I am a photographer, author, speaker and educator. Visit my website. www.carriewagner.com.  Spending a year abroad as a family has been in discussion since the day our first child was born, 15 years ago. We lived as a family in South Africa, but the kids were too young to remember many of the experiences. Now, at 13 and 15 years old, Adam and Benjamin are at perfect ages to absorb the challenges and benefits of international travel. Sharing my love of photography, culture, travel and social justice work with my children  is a dream come true.

You never know what life is going to give you.  When I lost my job it did not take long to recognize what seemed like disaster was truly an opportunity.  Learning Spanish, experiencing new cultures, giving our boys insights into social/economic issues, strengthening our family, learning new skills, made the decision to go to South America a no-brainer. Our year abroad will stretch us, shake us, make us think, and make us laugh.

Benjamin Wagner

I am 12 years old, and I’m in the seventh grade (well I was in seventh grade before I got pulled out of school.) I always enjoy jammin to some Kid Cudi or B.o.B, but I just like music in general. I love soccer. It is my favorite sport. Basketball is pretty much the funnest sport too. I miss all my friends already and I wish I didn’t have to go to Peru or Ecuador or whatever country it is. I also hope I can keep in touch through Facebook, email, or text with my friends!
