Five, Four, Three, Two

Countdown to departure. We fly to Peru on April 9th. Our month in the states has been busy and rewarding – and we sure needed the extra time to finish preparing to be out of the country for nine months. Our travel to Maryland, Washington DC, New York and Florida has given us good practice at re-packing, more purging, and strategizing transportation. We have driven, taken the metro and the subway, ridden the Greyhound bus and the Bolt bus. And we have had our first flight of this year – from DC to Miami. Though we have plenty of past travel experiences, there’s always a new scenario. That’s what makes adventure. Of most value to our stateside travel, has been getting in the routine of “no routine.” We will surely gain appreciation for gypsies, herders, nomads and vagabonds. And while we do have a need to be settled, we will have to be content with being together. This year, family is our “settlement.”

I have posted a few galleries of our trip so far.

    Carrie,
Your photos were great as always and I was so impressed with the videos the kids did. I can’t wait for more to come. You are all going to have a wonderful and enlightening 9 months. Your hard work in preparing for this will be rewarded I am sure. I admire all of you for being will to “step out of the box”. Luv ya, Jo

Loving your photos and all of your family’s blog posts. My office is the building right next to Freedom Plaza where Occupy is – just missed you! Next time – when you come back! Looking forward to reading more – safe journeys! Sarah

Thanks Sarah! I enjoy your FB posts too. I just don’t spend much time on FB. Your posts are always of interest to me. We’ll see ya next year when we’re back in DC since we know where you are now. Take Care!
