Preparing for Our Trip

Time is getting shorter by the day. Last week we bought our plane tickets, a $4,000 investment to which we are committed. So it’s final: we are going to Nepal. This week has involved a lot of preparation. Our friend Tony helped us to re-purpose our blog so that it includes posts from both the Wagner Family South America Sabbatical as well as Nepal. We have also spent a fair amount of time setting up our Indiegogo campaign to help offset the costs of this trip (which you can access by clicking here: Youth Serving in Nepal

In the past week we have also purchased backpacking gear. We’ve had to evaluate when it’s better to spend more on a better product and when to be frugal. Altogether, we are going to travel as inexpensively as we can. David Huff has helped with the pre-trip video and The Light Foundation has helped sponsor part of our trip. It is crunch time, and everything is coming together. Dawson and I will complete a two-day first-aid course to prepare us for the backpacking and conditions we may face on our trip. We are both very excited for this opportunity to experience another culture and help other in Nepal!
