To Market
I love a good market – and this is a good one. Adam and I set out early this morning to buy some produce. Huancaro market is in our neighborhood and takes place every Saturday. Farmers come in from the mountains to sell their produce, livestock, and other goods to city dwellers and shop owners. Hundreds of 50 kilo sacks of potatoes mark the entrance to the market. Rows and rows of venders (mostly women) sell all vegetables, grains, bread, animals (dead and alive), clothes, and fresh juices. I’ll spend the rest of my day cooking while Bob and the boys are at a soccer game.

April 29, 2012I don’t know what is the most colorful – the women themselves, their attire or all the beautiful produce. Wonderful photos – wish I could come for dinner.
